Carroll Lutheran Village

Carroll Lutheran Village includes 100 homes and 296 apartments in Residential Living; 50 assisted living suites in the Diven House and 103 skilled nursing beds in the Health Care Center; a memory care wing; and in-patient and out-patient rehabilitation services.

They have plenty of activities available if you are interested. A very loving environment. There is a chapel with services every week. Family can visit anytime of the day or night.

It was not a good scenario. She never got out of the therapy. She had terminal cancer. She was always in the skilled nursing part. That place was very nice. We were very fortunate to be able to utilize it. The doctors and the attending nurses, I mean everybody, had a lot of compassion.

The staff was very good. The facility was very nice, very modern, and very clean. They had spacious areas. They had a cafeteria. They had social activities. My mom didn’t participate in that, but they had all that available for the people who were there. They seemed very happy. I was disappointed with the lack of progress that she made there. Her stay was shortened. They felt that she was not progressing and therefore, they could not keep her on Medicare and they wanted to discharge her.

I was extremely disappointed because they wanted to discharge on a Friday, which would then have me move her into a new facility on a weekend. Weekends are not the time to move anybody because the help situation is never the same on a weekend. When we got there, it was very disorganized. My mother did not get her belongings in a timely fashion. I understand they have to wash everything, but she did get her phone. I bought her a little radio, and she didn’t get that. She didn’t get anything until I called and had somebody track it down.

Their communication was extremely poor. I would make many, many phone calls before I would finally get somebody to call me back. Nobody knew what the other person had been doing. There was no overall chart for my mother that could tell me this is what the situation is or this is her progress. It was very disorganized as far as I’m concerned, and I was displeased with the lack of progress Mom made.

The staff members were nice, but they were not prompt in getting back to me with anything. Physical appearance of the facility was nice. October 12, By Jimboslice40 I visited this facility As soon as we arrived on location we were greeted immediately friendly residents and staff. They started out by taking us on a facility tour. I must say we were quite impressed. As soon as I get to an age where I am looking for a retirement home this will be top of my list. There is a putting green, tennis courts and transportation to areas in the city of westminster.

The food there is very good as well. They have multiple places to eat for the residents and unlike some places like these it taste like real food. As well as a retirement community Carroll Lutheran has assisted living as well for those who need assistance and can’t provide it on their own. It feels very homey; that’s why we liked it. We’re already familiar with the community because we have relatives and friends living there. Everybody’s very friendly, and they’ve made a lot of improvements in the past 10 years, so it feels comfortable.

Once you buy in, they take care of you for the rest of your life, even if you run out of money. They had a pool with water aerobics, swimming, and so on. They give you a meal allowance and you can eat at either one of the different places, or go over and take your lunch back to your place to eat. The grounds are great. My aunt and uncle live in the independent home, and they are very pleased.

They have a beautiful house overlooking the valley. It has two floors and very livable space. They like their food. They have a meal plan and a restaurant or a little cafeteria. They also have the ability to cook their own food in their own kitchen.

My aunt and uncle are very happy. They are able to participate in activities, like going on trips with some of the groups that are there. I think there is a little carpentry shop that my uncle has built a few things in.

I know he participates in the community garden. Outside of that, I would have been satisfied. The apartments were nice-sized and were nice. I wouldn’t have had to downsize or get rid of anything just because it wouldn’t fit there.

I could have chosen what furniture to take with me and wouldn’t have had a problem going shopping. The grounds were pretty and very nice. They had different things for people to do there, and they had a pool. They have a two-bedroom and a den, so it is quite spacious. There are lots of lights. It is close to the facilities — i. We had lunch there, and the food was fine. The reason we visited so much was because first they would give you a tour of the whole complex and a lunch. The second time we went, they had a real estate sales person available, and they told us how to prepare your house for sale, what the houses were selling for in the neighborhood, and they would give you a tip.

The third time we visited was about finances, and they had a financial consultant there. The place is gorgeous. They had houses that you could buy, they had apartments, they had assisted living, and they had a hospital. The staff that we met was very congenial, and any question that you asked, they answered it spot on. As for the rooms, they had an older section and they had a newer section.

My husband hated the older section. It was too dark and dreary. However, they had new apartment building that was gorgeous. The layout was beautiful, and you would just love living in the houses. The sanitation was excellent. The food was very good. They had a regular dining room, and they had a pub and grill. We ate in the pub and grill once, and we also ate in the dining room.

They served a meal in the dining room for us to look at the place, and that was exceptional. However, the pub and grill food was just as good. November 27, By Margaret30 I visited this facility Carroll Lutheran was not far from where my son lived.

We did not eat a meal there. Our hostess was very helpful, friendly and gracious. Everything was positive there. We did see one room, and it was very modern and well maintained.
